A group of Buddhists priests represented by realtor Lori Sacpo of Prudential Realty want to purchase the Naphan ranch property on Castro Ranch Rd. to put up a large Buddhist monastery detailed at the 'gyutoproject' website. Their goal is to have the Dalai Lama visit there one day if they can get this project off the ground. The property is currently in escrow and the priests are working with an Indian architect. The County has 6 - 8 months to approve and a use permit will be good for 1 year after that.

 

Public Speaking Segment

El Sobrante resident Patty Casentini stated she had taken a survey of El Sobrante residents as she went door to door to encourage citizens to vote for the failed Measure E police tax. See her survey entitled "Expressed Concerns of El Sobrante Citizens"

Supervisor John Gioia's Chief of Staff Terrance Cheung stated that Patric Roche of Community Development is working on the final EIR and the Planning Commission will likely hold a hearing on the El Sobrante General Plan Update at the end of September 2010 or early October 2010.
